We have one of the Premier Herds of Quality Miniature Donkeys in Europe with most of our Jennet's being Championship show winners or Champions, including the more coverted DBS Titles, Royal Highland, Royal Lancs etc.
We breed specifically for Perfect temperaments, movement and freedom from hereditary defects, feeling strongly that we cannot compromise these important traits.
Seeing is believing so why not arrange to visit and see for yourselves!
Ann with some of the jennets in the big barn. Photo taken by Rhetta McAlister of Country Music's Donkeys.
Many Breeders have fairly nice Jacks but with very average Jennets.
The Jennet should be important. I actually believe even more so than a show winning Jack. Our Jennets are Extra special and have been very carefully, individually selected over many years for their Outstanding Conformation. The old saying, "it costs as much to keep a good one as a bad one" is very true!
Enjoy browsing this page and compare our Girls.
Better still call and arrange to see them in person, you will be pleased you did!
Arranbrook practices a sound breeding philosophy.
We take great pride in the variety of our herd’s pedigrees.
Arranbrook's Own code of ethics
* We do not and never have inbred our Donkeys.
* We have decided to adhere to the advice from The Donkey Breed Society , who consulted numerous veterinary surgeons on the correct age to breed Jennet's and no longer breed our own Jennets before their 4th year. Their welfare is of paramount importance to us.
* We do not wean our foals before the age of 6 months unless there is a medical reason to do so.
* We NEVER breed our Jennets on foal heat and find the practise totally uncalled for. Usually we breed after the last foal is fully weaned unless the Jennet of being rested.
* ALL visiting Jennet's will have be swabbed by own vet before arriving at the Stud.
* No Jennet's under their third year will be bred and we do not accommodate with foal at foot. NFFR is offered.

Johnny Paycheck Jenny foal
Below
Big Woods 24 Karat and Johnny Paycheck foal
All our jennets range from 30 in - 34in max.
I strongly feel it derogatory to have very small Miniature Donkeys as their conformation is often much poorer and may indicate signs of dwarfism, short stumpy legs with larger heads to be avoided.
I much prefer the middle height range in my jennets to avoid birthing problems, as I write this I hear of yet another 30in jenny, both her and her baby were sadly lost!
I compliment my girls with smaller jacks where possible but always jacks of Top Quality with good temprements.
As with our Herd sire's, all our jennets are fully Registered.
My Jennet's are consistent in Type and Quality, you will
be hard pushed to find this consistency anywhere else in this Country.
Arranbrook Donkeys are Stocky and Compact with Beautiful heads, Fabulous well Rounded Hips, short coupled and very Correct Conformation.
We Breed for Quality with good Temperaments.
Each breeding is a chance to improve on the next generation. Our foals Confirm that we have made the right selection and pairing in our Breeding Stock.
Show and breeding Quality being one and the same here at Arranbrook.
The foundation bloodlines our jennets carry are
Circle C's Corona, Red Lightening, Little Motown, Obsession
& Legend.
FL Tumbleweed, Tex-Ass, WH Bugle Boy. Capstone, Country Music's, Pope Farms Teaspoon,
LN Sonfire, LN Red Glo, LCR Valentino 75th, Old West, Berry Ridge FL Chisholm, Stock Markets Cash Dividend, Windcrest and PMF Charlie Bandito.
We Proudly Present Our Outstandingly Beautiful & Completely spoilt Girls!

Dancie has exceptional Conformation, huge chest, great hip and pretty head. She moves beautifully and has to be seen to be appreciated as her photos just do her no justice!
I feel she could do very well in the Show Ring in England and for this reason she will not be bred for a while.
Maybe the above was an understatement!!!!

Dam: LN Cranberry 32.5in Sorrel
Bred on the Famous Lazy Nissan Ranch. I was extremely pleased when Angela Preston of Hill Country Miniatures in Texas offered me this beautiful jennet
after I commented how much I loved her.
She is fondly known as The Princess, (and answers to it), as she was so aloof when she arrived, nowadays she has her reversing up to us for butt scratches to a Tee!!!
Now she has arrived I am delighted as she, along with our own Top Producing Big Woods 24 Karat, is probably one of the best Red jennets currently residing in the UK.
Her Conformation is second to none, topped off by a small neat head with a pleasing eye.
NEWS FLASH!!!
Moulon's first show 3 days after arriving from Texas!
Moulon gains: First Best Condition & Turnout class
First Yearling, Two and Three year old class
Reserve Champion Donkey!
Originally bred at the well known Lazy Nissan Ranch, then purchased from the GAMD sale in 2006. Moulon Rouge, by the chestnut herd sire,
Red Glo, is that rich red color in appearance as well as genetically.
Both sides of her family lineage trace back to the old import donkeys & with many Halter Champions and Champion producers clear back thru the great grandparents.
Combining all that, along with a very stylish and appealing look, Moulon Rouge is an exceptionally special jennet in all aspects. Moulon's maternal half sister, Rosehips, was 2002 NE State Fair Reserve Champion.
Cranberry (Moulon's dam) is a full sister to Barb Grubb's
Redsonne a 'done it all' show jack.
Both
Cranberry and Red Glo now reside at Ponderosa Donkey Farm
Many thanks to Angel and Ed Preston for offering me this
lovely jennet and allowing her to come to England.
*Moulon's first foal is by Country Music's Johnny Paycheck April
an outstanding dark brown jack Arranbrook Legacy, our future Herd!
Moulon has a date
late spring with Itsy Bitsy Tomcat, one of the reasons I purchased Tom
was he will compliment this lovely Mare beautifully.

34in Grey Dun with sorrel highlights
Foaled: 4/6/2003
Reg: Canadian Donkey and Mule Association & the MMDA
Sire: LCR Valentino 75th. Sorrel
Dam: Perfection's Lady Macbeth. Grey
For me Early Frost epitomises just what a Miniature Donkey should look like, a Standard Donkey in Miniature!
She is a Beautiful, very correct jennet with a neat small head, large eye, deep, wide chest and fantastic hip.
We spotted her in Frank O'Sullivan's Herd whilst visiting in summer 2007. She reminded us so much of Country Music's Wynonna Judd, The 2004 NMDA National Champion! I would like to Thank Red Oak Stud in Ireland for the chance to purchase this Beautiful jennet.
Her Sire the sorrel LCR Valentino 75th passed away at a young age so very few of this bloodline around!
Frosty first foal was a beautiful jenny Arranbrook
Bridget Jones by Old West Limited Edition . Bridget is now in a show home in Surrey
and one I always wished I had kept.
Frosty then foaled a stunning tiny ( 18.5 in at 2 days) jack foal Arranbrook Storminateacup, by Country Music's Johnny Paycheck.
1st Mares class
Lambhill show
1st Mares class MMDA
Nationals no further award offered this year!!
Unfortunately Frosty is not convinced showing is
her thing so as she is a winner she can remain at home and give me
some future stars instead.
She is bred to Multi Champion
Itsy Bitsy Tomcat for a 2011 foal, should be really nice and
possibly sorrel, but I am hoping for any colour filly for myself!

Annie will always be special to us being our very first Miniature Donkey. Did she do us well during her first season in the show ring she gained Reserve Champion Jennet at the Royal Highland show, then DBS Champion Yearling at Braco Donkey show.
During her second year she was also reserve Champion Miniature Donkey at Peterborough show.
Annie will even shake "hands" on command for a mint!!!
As a brood jennet her first foal, a jenny by Itsy Bitsy Tomcat, which was Exported to Holland.
Annie foaled a beautiful grey / brown jenny foal June 2008 now living in Ireland.
She foaled a stocky show quality jack foal, pictured above, to our own Arranbrook
Bobby Dazzler last year
Now in
foal to our Champion Tri-colour jack Outlaw!
Sire: Circle C Corona. Sorrel.
Sire: Circle C Red Lightening. Sorrel.
Dam: Sunset Acres Firegirl. Grey Dun.
Kay won her class at her first ever English show 3 years after arriving from America.
Honley show where she won the Mare's class.
As she was in foal she was not shown again.
Our beautiful jennet, Kay, has the look of her super Sire Circle C Corona, pictured below
and is very like his Dam, Diamond Flush, see the well known Benson Ranch web
site. This lineage is apparent in Kay's foals as she is our Top
producing Jenny, we hope one day she will give us a daughter to retain!
In 2004 Circle C Corona won NMDA "Get of Sire". This is a very prestigious award earned by a herd sire based solely on the quality of his offspring. It is the highest honour a herd sire can achieve.
Kay is my Top Producing mare so far and was originally imported by me from South Carolina in foal to FL Tumbleweed, Senior Herd Sire Wolfheart Ranch.
She is from the
same family as the well known Miss Houston of Circle C, Right Dam of Circle C Legend.
Kay was originally purchased as a show jennet for Rock N Roll ranch in Tennessee and she did well as a young jennet. Sadly, only due to a bereavement was she sold on.
Kay has a small neat head and a super huge round hind quarter. Her first foal, Arranbrook Bobby Dazzler, is our Herd sire.
September 2008 Kay foaled a Stunning Dark jack foal to Country Music's Johnny Paycheck .
*In foal to Multi Champion Itsy Bitsy Tomcat.
We hope for a filly, fingers crossed!
Country Music's Dixie Nolan
Multiple First prize winner
33in. Dark Brown.
Foaled 17/5/2004.
Reg: ADMS. MMDA Stud Book Registered. The Donkey Breed Society.
Sire: Country Music's Garth Brooks. 30in. Brown
Dam: Agapeland Leah. Dark Brown.
Dixie is a stunning jennet, with the most beautiful eye you will see on a Donkey. Her photos never do her justice. I bought her direct off the Famous Country Music's ranch in Texas along with my Senior Herd Sire CM's Johnny Paycheck in 2004 when both were only a few weeks old.
Dixie has a nice rounded hip, beautiful head, great deep chest and is of course a very correct Donkey. I have yet to see another Country Music's Jenny as nice as her and I have seen plenty!!
Dixie Doughnut as she is affectionately known is the joker in the herd and if anyone can spot an open gate or golden opportunity to get into mischief, then it is always going to be Dixie. She has her own agenda and will probably not be shown again as she does have her own ideas,
My Daughter refused to ever handle a Donkey for me again after
showing Dixie once and she used to showjump ponies!!!!
However she has proved to be a Fantastic Brood Jenny!

Re veterinary inspections
While we will have
had our jacks inspected at three years of age my intention is to have ALL my show Donkeys, over time, DONKEY BREED SOCIETY VETERINARY INSPECTED which at this time is only a yearly event & as and when my Donkeys become old enough.
This is a VERY rigorous, thorough
independent Inspection. However, ALL my Donkeys offered for sale are open to any independent veterinary inspection.
All photos on this site are of our own Donkeys unless otherwise stated. No parts of this site may be reproduced without permission.
