If you can provide all these and time to spend with your Donkey then your welcome to become a valued customer with us! Click here for Link to Advice for the new Miniature Donkey owner.
A few important things to look for when purchasing Miniature Donkeys. Temperament: The Miniature Donkeys temperament is one of the wonderful things about this lovely breed. Should you come across Herd Sire's which do not display a friendly nature towards humans then look elsewhere as that temperament will come out in his offspring sooner or later. Mouth /bite: A miniature Donkey should have a nice even bite, undershot or over shot mouths are undesirable and not breeding stock. Dwarfism: Miniature Donkeys are not bred down Standard Donkeys, they are a breed in their own right. Therefore be wary of Donkeys with large heads and small legs. The Donkeys overall appearance should be of one in perfect proportion.
Please note, we do not sell a Donkey to a home without other Donkeys so don't ask as to refuse may offend!
We have no Donkeys for sale right now as we are waiting for foals to arrive. Many of these however will be available for purchase! Please contact for further details (+44) 01765 603149 / Mobile 07793812206
IMPORTANT NOTICE Acceptable Registry's for Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys are ANY of the following: The Donkey Breed Society, The American Donkey & Mule Society, The Canadian Donkey and Mule Society, which does have a STUD Book! The Miniature Mediterranean Donkey Association.
None of the above is in any way superior to any of the others, they all register PURE Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys!! Just because a Donkey has a full 3 generation pedigree can in no way mean it is a Quality Donkey, in many cases of older stock in the UK the reverse is true.
Miniature Donkeys are originally from the Mediterranean. The breed HAD to be crossed with other Donkey breeds very early in the breeds development in the USA otherwise they would all be grey Donkeys to put it very simply. although it obviously goes much deeper than this.
The Miniature Donkey nowadays hail from the USA and Canada. There was a phase when records were seldom kept up dated. This is how we still have QUALITY Donkeys with less than a 3 generation pedigree.
Pictured below is a Donkey with less than a 3 Generation pedigree!
Country Music's Johnny Paycheck. DBS Royal Highland Supreme Champion Donkey 2006, Top DBS Miniature Donkey 2006, Top MMDA Miniature Donkey 2006, Reserve Champion Donkey Royal Lancashire 2007, Champion Donkey Stanhope 2007.
To suggest that a pedigree is more important than Conformation is ludicrous, especially with such a small gene pool as here in the UK. Demanding a full pedigree at this stage in the breeds development is detrimental to the breed in the UK! NB: Most foals born in the UK will hold a full 3 generation pedigree anyway!

Jack's should never be purchased as a pet and should be handled by experienced people only. Always go to a reputable breeder who will be able to give plenty of advice both before and after any purchase. Donkeys should be Registered with any of the following, The ADMS, The Donkey Breed Society or the MMDA.
Do remember that Miniature Donkeys have a very good lifespan and can live well past their 20's some into their 40's!
