We are delighted our breeding program has reached our goals so quickly, to be breeding Top Quality stock including Champion Herd Sire's as well as our own Homebred Senior Herd Sire and our future Herd Sire's.  Future plans include keeping more of our homebred stock from our previous and new stallions.

However distinguished a Donkeys show record maybe, what matters most is his or her impact as a Producer!

*The proof of any successful Breeding Program is always in the progeny*

NB:   All our jacks and their Sire's have the True, Correct Temperament indicative to this wonderful Breed.

None of our Boys have ever bitten us or anyone else.

Visitors are more than welcome to visit the stallions inside their paddocks & stables unless they are actually covering Mares they are running with at that time.

We would never allow bad tempered stallions into our breeding program, not even one generation removed. as this serious fault, like any other, WILL surface in future Generations which apart from being dangerous  is damaging to the future generations of Donkeys.

They deserve better!

The same goes for breeding from stock with faults, such as bad mouths, fixation of the patella, weak legs etc. etc.

*Please remember The PRESENT Breeders hold the FUTURE of The Breed in their hands*

I have taken great care to select my Jack's as they are half the Herd and need to compliment the Mares.

With this in mind I have selected jacks for their Conformation and movement along with Temperament uppermost in my mind.  Short pretty heads and eye appeal are a must for me, with great heart room and correct well rounded hips with colour coming last.

My boys are housed correctly, well away from each other as jacks will fight and antagonise each other given the chance.

I also like them to have plenty of space to run, graze and play in, Jacks which are kept correctly should not put weight on, so keeping them in small areas is asking for trouble.

From time to time they run with their jennet's as this puts perfect manners on them.

Re veterinary inspections

The Association requirement is that members Donkeys are to be inspected by ones own veterinary surgeon.

This inspection CANNOT guarantee that the Donkeys are free from heredity faults as ONLY the progeny produced could possibly confirm this!

While we will have our jacks inspected at three years of age my intention is to have ALL my show Donkeys, over time, DONKEY BREED SOCIETY VETERINARY INSPECTED which at this time is only a yearly event & as and when my Donkeys become old enough.

This is a VERY rigorous, thorough independant Inspection.

However, ALL my Donkeys offered for sale are open to any independent veterinary inspection.
