* We do not and never have inbred our Donkeys. * We have a "Jennet's First" policy. We decided to adhere to the advice from The Donkey Breed Society , who consulted numerous veterinary surgeons on the correct breeding age for Jennet's. * We no longer breed our own Jennets before their 4th year of age as many are just too mentally immature for motherhood. Their welfare being of paramount importance to us. * We do not wean our foals before the age of 6 months unless there is a medical reason to do so. * We NEVER breed our Jennets on foal heat and find the practise totally uncalled for. Usually we breed after the last foal is fully weaned unless the Jennet is being rested. * ALL visiting Jennet's will have to be swabbed by their own vet before arriving at the Stud. * No Jennet's under their third year will be taken for Stud. * We do not accommodate Jennet's with foal at foot. * NFFR is offered. We are members of the Donkey Breed Society, The American Donkey & Mule Society & MMDA 18th June 2009 |
